Singapur: After a wave of hijacking tank ships increased by 22 % of armoured robbery and pirate attacks to ships in this region, the Asian part amounted to three quarters of the world-wide piracy.
Last year, there were 183 actual and attempted attacks on ships on the Asiatic seas. In 2013 the number was only 150, published by an international maritime Anti-Piracy-association and the law enforcement agencies on last Wednesday.
Taking the final 2014 report of the International Maritime Bureau (IMB) there were 245 attacks and attempts to attack on ships. 75 % thereof were registered in Asia.
